AICUF INAUGURATED IN POMPEI COLLEGE
Pompei College Aikala July 11 :
July 10, 2007: AICUF, All India Christian University Federation, was inaugurated in Pompei College on 10th July 2007 by Rev. Fr Sunil Menezes, SVD in the presence of Rev. Fr Francis Fernandes, SVD (Rector, SVD House, Kirem) in the Prayer Room of the college.
With Prof. Patrick Menezes as Director and Ms Jyothi Kamath as Animator, the voluntary unit was enthusiastically participated in by the students. The inauguration was presided over by the Principal, Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca.
After the lighting of the lamp, a beautiful Prayer Service was conducted by the members. Fr Francis introduced Fr Sunil and wished the Unit well. The Chief Guest, Fr Sunil, inspired the students to practise Christian leadership in the service of the needy.
Fr Principal appreciated the meaningful Prayer Service and suggested to the participants to hold weekly half-hour Prayer Sessions, monthly Holy Mass and annual Retreat. He gave a call to the AICUF to be the spiritual generator of the college, prayer leading to action, in the footsteps of Jesus, our Lord. Sr Flaveena proposed the Vote of Thanks.
