Pompei College Annual Day celebrated on 22nd Dec
Pompei College Aikala December 23 : Pompei College Annual Day celebrations were held on 22nd Dec 2006 at College grounds.
Rev Dr Fr Eugene Lobo, SJ, Principal of St Aloysius College, Mangalore was the chief guest for the evening function and cultural program which started at 2pm sharp. Fr Charles Noronha, Correspondent of the College presided over the stage function. College Principal Fr Valerian Mendonca, Prof Herald D Souza, Alumni Association President Mr Santhan D Souza along with the two retired Professors of the college who were honoured with shawl, garland, fruits and momento during the function Prof. K S Kedlaya (Dept of Kannada) and Prof Clement D Souza (Dept. of Political Science) were also present on the dias.
Principal Fr Mendonca read out the Annual Report which highlighted the progress made by College during the past year.
Chief Guest Rev Dr Fr Lobo distributed prizes to various achievers and in his speech praised the progress made by the college and wished well for its new stream of BBM scheduled for next Academic Year.
Cultural program started at 3.30pm and ended at 6.30pm. Various Dances and skits were enjoyed by audience.
Fr Valerian Mendonca who celebrated his 57th Birthday on 9th Dec, will be retiring in next academic year after a distinguished service throughout his career.
We wish Pompei College and The Principal Fr Mendonca a bright and peaceful future.
