Pompei College Aikala August 1 : SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS: 2005-2006
Dear Alumni
Pompei College was started on 6th July 1981 by Rev. Fr Bernard L. D’Souza in order to cater to the higher educational needs of the rural youth of Aikala, Kinnigoly and the neighbourhood. The college marched into its Silver Jubilee Year on 6th July 2005, having mothered 8,745 students to a bright future. As a beacon of knowledge, light and hope to the youth of the locality, the college has been happily accredited by the NAAC at the B Level. With a beautiful natural ambience and well-furnished infrastructure, the college is marching towards greater heights of excellence in academic and value education. The campus interview conducted for job-placements on 30th April 2005 by Rosewell Informatics is, indeed, a welcome signal to the job-seeking youth.
In order to mark the Jubilee celebrations, the Silver Jubilee Committee of the college has planned the following projects:
1. Construction of an Audio-Visual Room, a Conference Room and
an Indoor Stadium
2. Hosting the Inter-Collegiate Volley Ball Tournament for Men
3. Hosting a State Level Conference on Economics
4. Hosting an Inter-Collegiate Skit Competition on Aids
5. Free Midday Meal Scheme for needy students
6. Bringing out a Souvenir of the Silver Jubilee.
It has been estimated that these Projects will cost us Rs 13.5 lakh. The UGC has come forward to help us with Rs 3.5 lakh. Hence we are in need of Rs 10 lakh for the implementation of the Jubilee Projects.
It is our earnest hope that you will lend us your helping hand in our efforts. May I request you to kindly contribute your mite towards the projects and be a partner with us in meeting the educational needs of our rural youth?
