DISCIPLINE AND BEHAVIOUR
1. Students in the College Campus are expected to be neatly and modestly dressed in accordance with the rules of approved etiquette. All the students are expected to be in Formal Wear, that is, pants and shirts for male students, and Chudidars/ Salwar Khameez/ Sarees, and the like for female students. Casual Wear , such as T-Shirts of whatever colour/size, is strictly prohibited.
2. Students coming by public transport shall behave properly with fellow passengers, drivers, conductors etc. Picking up quarrels, raising voice and indecent behaviour in the public transport or in the streets will spoil the reputation of the College.
3. The students are not expected to bring four wheelers to the college.
4. Students coming with motorcycles, scooters and mopeds should have a valid driving licence. Rash driving, driving the vehicle without proper silencer will be considered an offence.
5. The working hours of the college :
Forenoon Session : 0950 hours to 1300 hours
Afternoon Session : 1400 hours to 1600 hours
A certain number of classes and tutorials will be held outside the working hours for which attendance is compulsory. Students are expected to be in the campus at least 5 minutes prior to the commencement of the sessions.
6. Lecturer has every right to send any student out of the class room without assigning any reason. However he will report the matter to the Principal at the earliest.
7. The lecturers are empowered to instruct any student to change the place of sitting, without assigning any reason.
8. Any argument about classroom discipline will not be allowed inside the classroom. However they may present their opinion with the lecturers after the class hour in their departments.
9. Students are expected to wish/ salute the staff members on their first meeting of the day.
10. Students are not expected to loiter in the college campus or corridor unnecessarily.
11. Whistling, making obsene sounds, raising the voice, haggling together in the corridor and campus is strictly prohibited, especially during lunch break.
12. Students are expected to spend their free time in the library/ games room or with the lecturers discussing the subject.
13. Lady students are expected to enter the class rooms only after the first bell of each session. They may spend their free time in the ladies waiting room or in the library.
14. Every student should possess his/her identity card issued in the college which should be produced whenever asked for.
15. Students are not permitted to smoke or use tobacco in any form, bring eatables to the campus. They are also forbidden to bring video game gadgets, transister radios, cell/cordless phones, musical instruments etc., to the college.
16. Consumption of alcohol in the campus or entering the campus after consumption will be an offence, punishable even with suspension or dismissal from the college.
17. Books, Magazines, Newspapers etc., not approved by the Principal, should not be brought to the college.
18. Students are requested not to bring heavy cash or valuables to the college.
RULES OR GENERAL DISCIPLINE
1. Causing disturbance within the College premises, library, reading room, common room, playground, diverting attention of the students from the lecturers, or of a teacher from teaching in subordination and disrespect to the teacher within or outside college premises, habitual inattention to classwork, frequent absenteeism, disturbing a class from outside, loitering in the corridors, making noise and disturbing the classes, picking up quarrels with staff teaching or non-teaching or with other students and any other act or acts which the Principal may deem as minor acts of indiscipline. Punishment for these acts of indiscipline may range from issue of warning , suspension from class and keeping the offender out of class for consecutive 4 periods by the concerned lecturers, imposition of fine or even suspension from the college for a period of 7 working days at a time by the Principal.
2. Repetition of acts of indiscipline in spite of repeated warnings and penalties imposed, attending and the college dressed in a manner contrary to social norms prevailing from time to time, indecent exposure in provocative manner, disfiguring the walls, floors, furniture etc., of the college by writing offensive and indecent slogans, wanton destruction of the college properties, instigating others to commit acts of indiscipline, organisation of movements subversive of discipline of the college, physical intimidation of law abiding students, indulging in criminal acts of any kind, rousing communal and caste feelings among students, demonstration of disloyalty to the country, its constitution and its flag, ragging of any kind tending to cause physical and mental torture, attending the college in a drunken state, bringing to the college instruments like whistles, toys with the intention of creating noise and disturbing the peace of the college, bringing and playing cassettes or radios inside the class or outside the class hours, smoking in the college campus and any other act or acts which the Principal may consider as major acts of indiscipline, are major acts of indiscipline.
3. Students indulging in the major acts of indiscipline are liable to be suspended from the college or the parent/ guardian may be asked to withdraw the student from the college or rustication of the student from the college.
4. Attendance to Moral, Religion/and value education classes/ retreat and all extra-curricular and co-curricular programmes are compulsory.
5. Students shall not take part in political agitation directed against the authority of the Government. They are also forbidden to engage prominently in any public movement without permission of the Principal.
6. Students shall not join clubs, societies or organizations, the activities of which may interfere with their regular studies in the college without the permission of the Principal.
7. The college is not responsible for the conduct of the students outside the college premises. However any misconduct of the students outside the college premises which is likely to disrepute to the college will be viewed seriously by the Principal and the students concerned are liable to be punished as the Principal deems fit.
RULES OF ATTENDANCE
Once a student enters the college campus he/she should attend all the classes of the day. However if any student needs to be absent from any class he/she should obtain the prior permission of the Principal or the one deputed by him. Students violating this rule are liable to pay a fine of Rs 10 each time.
Absentees should justify their absence with the Principal before attending class on the subsequent day.
a) Students are requested to attend not less than 75% of the total number of classes actually held during the academic year in each of the subjects. However when there are genuine and valid reasons, if the attendance is 60% and above but below 75% the Principal may recommend to the University for condonation of the shortage after collecting the prescribed fees.
b) A candidate who does not satisfy the requirements of attendance even in one subject shall not be permitted to take the whole University Examination of that year and he shall be required to repeat the course in a subsequent year.
TESTS AND EXAMINATIONS
Regular tests will be conducted in every subject. The students are required to answer these tests in right earnest. Similarly absence for any reason will not be viewed lightly.
The progress of the students in their curricular studies will be reported to their parents/guardians.
The progress report of the students sent to their parents/guardians should be returned to the Principal after affixing their signature there on.
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT
Tests for internal assessment will be conducted in September and February and they will be of two and three hours duration respectively. If a student fails to appear for any of the tests for a valid reason as judged by the Principal he/she will be given a chance to appear for another test of three hours duration in March on payment of a prescribed fee per subject.
NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS ALLOWED FOR UNIVERSITY EXAM
A Candidate who fails to successfully complete the programme within a period of three years after admission, shall be allowed to complete the programme within the next three years, within a total period of six years from the year of admission.
The Repeaters are required to confirm the prescribed syllabus and note the changes, if any, while applying for the supplementary examinations.
FEE CONCESSION AND SCHOLARSHIPS
All scholarships and Fee concessions are subject to good conduct, regular attendance and satisfactory progress.
Scholarship Fee concessions available will be brought to the notice of the students by notifying on the college notice board or announcing in the class. The office staff will guide the students in this matter.

WITHDRAWALS AND CERTIFICATES
All applications for certificates must be made to the Principal in writing. Certificates must be taken from the office in person.
Certificates and Marks Card will not be handed over to unauthorized persons.
Applications for certificates should contain the following particulars
a) The student’s name and initials
b) The class in which the student was originally enrolled
c) The class in which the student was studying at the time of leaving and the roll number.
d) Languages under part I and optionals under part II
e) The University Examination passed with Reg.No. and year of passing.
The following are the fees charged for Certificates :
a) Conduct Cerificate : Rs. 30.00
b) Age Certificate : Rs. 30.00
c) Transfer Certificate : Rs. 50.00
d)Any other Certificates
No dues, attendance etc : Rs. 30.00
Certificates will not be issued on less than 5 days notice. However in emergency cases the certificates will be issued on payment of double the fees even at short notice.
According to University regulations, Transfer Certificates may not be given to the students in person but will be sent to the institution, which he/she intends to join. The application for Certificate should be countersigned by the head of the institution.
The official Conduct Certificate is a document, which a student has to earn by his conduct and behaviour during his/ her college course and it will be issued only by the Principal. It will not be issued as a matter of course and the Principal may refuse the conduct certificate to any student whose conduct, in his opinion has not been satisfactory.
