POMPEI ACCREDITED!
The Pompei College is accredited! The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) visited the college though its Peer Team comprising Prof. P. Neerada Reddy from Hyderabad, Prof. V. Shivakumar from Goa and Dr Arun V.R. Deshpande from Maharashtra on 28th and 29th of January, 2004. The Team presented a glorious report on the efficient functioning of the institution. The Executive Committee of NAAC was pleased to award the ‘B GRADE’ with the institutional score of 70-75% for 5 years. The college remains grateful to everyone who has contributed to its frowth and progress, and has been responsible for its successful accreditation. The Peer Team had examined the college on seven criteria :
1. Curricular aspects.
2. Teaching-Learning and Evaluation
3. Research, Consultancy and Extension
4. Infrastructure and Learning Resources
5. Student Support and Progression
6. Organisation and Management
7. Healthy Practices.
We thank the Peer Team for their words of appreciation and encouragement, and suggestions for the future development of the college as an "institution with a difference" in the area.
The College had a change of Principal on 1st July 2003. We wish to record with great appreciation and gratitude, the dedicated service of Rev. Fr. John A. Barboza to the institution and wish him well as the Principal of St. Mary's College, Shirva.
Having been founded on 6th July 1981 by Rev. Fr. Bernard L D' Souza with "A Light Unto My Path" as its motto and the twin aim of academic and value education, the College is marching enthusiastically towards its Silver Jubilee.
